How to Use Digital Toner Foil

Digital toner foil, as known as toner reactive foil, is a kind of heat transfer foil specially designed for digital toner printing and UV oil printing. Unlike traditional hot stamping processes that require metal dies, this innovative foil utilizes digitally printed toner particles as a bonding layer. 

How to use this foil to the toner printing or UV oil printing? Follow my steps.

Advance preparation:
EKO digital toner foil
Digital toner printing or UV printing(better with coated paper)
Heat laminator

First step: Create a design that you like

Use the design software like Photoshop to create a design that you want. Please note that it’s better to use CMYK black as the background color for the pattern, as it will ensure the a better final result.

Second step: Print the pattern

This step is of vital importance. We must print the patterns with a laser toner printer or a UV oil printer, toner and UV act as the adhesive layer, so it’s key factor that determines whether the foiling can be successfully carried out.

Final step: Foiling

Set the thermal laminator to an appropriate temperature(toner printing: 80~85℃, UV printing: 70~75℃). Apply the foil colored side up, resting the dull side against the paper. Smooth out the foil as much as possible before putting it through. Once the printing has gone through the laminator, it's time to peel.
